At Duiker Technologies, we take pride in the quality and durability of our smart locks. Our products are engineered to provide reliable security and convenience for your home or business.
1. Standard Warranty Period
All hardware products purchased from Duiker Technologies come with a Standard Warranty starting from the date of delivery.
- Default Warranty: Unless otherwise stated, all products include a one-year (12-month) warranty.
- Extended Warranty: Certain premium products feature an extended three-year (36-month) warranty.
Please refer to the specific product page on our website at the time of purchase to confirm the exact warranty period applicable to your item. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and hardware failures under normal use.
2. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonaly foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
3. What is Covered?
This warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
- Failure of electronic components (sensors, keypad, motor) under normal operating conditions.
- Failure of the physical lock mechanism.
4. What is Not Covered?
To ensure the longevity of your lock, please note that the warranty does not apply to:
- Improper Installation: Damage caused by incorrect DIY installation. We strongly recommend using a professional for complex door types.
- Lack of Maintenance: Failure to clean the lens or maintain the hardware as instructed.
- Misuse or Vandalism: Damage caused by impact, forced entry, or use of the product outside its intended purpose.
- Unauthorized Modifications: Any attempts to disassemble or modify the internal electronics.
- External Factors: Damage from extreme weather events exceeding the product's rated IP (weatherproof) specifications.
5. How to Make a Claim
If you believe your product is faulty, please follow these steps:
- Contact Us: Reach out via our Contact Us page with your order number and a description of the issue.
- Troubleshooting: Our dedicated team will provide initial troubleshooting steps to see if the issue can be resolved remotely.
- Return for Assessment: If the issue persists, we will provide a Return Authorization. The product must be returned to us for assessment.
- Resolution: Once the fault is verified, we will, at our discretion, repair the item, provide a replacement, or issue a refund.
6. Important Notes
- Proof of Purchase: A valid tax invoice or order confirmation is required for all claims.
- Labor Costs: Our warranty covers the product replacement or repair only. Duiker Technologies is not liable for any third-party locksmith or installation fees incurred during the replacement process.
- Discontinued Items: If an identical part is no longer available, we will provide a similar part of equal value or a pro-rata refund.
